Interview with Kelly Ledford, mom of Mallory,and SGMconcerts.com staff writer, J Jones
When did Mallory start singing?
Mallory has been singing since the age of 2.
She is now 11. She debuted her first song at our church which was "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star".
Have you ever allowed her to enter any of those contests we hear so much about?
She started entering competitions, which she won several, but we felt that was not the direction that God wanted.
I understand that, so when you follow God’s will He opens the doors, so when did she start getting calls to sing publicly?
She was 8 years old when she started getting bookings from churches. Over the last 4 years her ministry has really grown. She has traveled to over 200 churches. We have met some lifelong friends through this ministry.
Is there one event that really sticks out in your mind over Mallory’s singing career?
Back in November, Mallory had the honor of performing before the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners and having a day named after her in Hamilton County. November 21st is officially "Mallory Ledford Day" in Hamilton County!
WOW, that’s impressive. Does Mallory have more than one project?
Mallory just recently completed her 4th project, which is now available. It is entitled "Mary Had A Little Lamb", which her Dad wrote.
What do you think sets Mallory aside and what makes her different?
Mallory loves to sing and gives all of the credit to God. She is a very humble child. It is apparent that God has His hand on her. She has never had any voice lessons. She loves traveling and having a ministry. It takes a lot of time and effort, but it is well worth it to see souls being saved. God is really using Mallory at this time in her life. Her innocence seems to move people. We appreciate everyone's prayers and support.
Well I have been to a few of Mallory’s concerts. I love the low key approach that her dad (Wade) has as he handles the emcee responsibility. I can’t explain how a little girl only 11 years old that has a singing career for over 3 years. I can’t explain why a little girl wants to sing, practice and spend hours in a studio. I can’t explain why God uses some people more than others, but when you hear Mallory Ledford sing you will know that HE has touched and anointed her singing ability. This site was created to give the greater Chattanooga Area residents information about the concerts and church events. So many times we hear, "I would have attended your singing if I had known where it was." So this site was formed.
It is our intention to keep ALL church events and ALL our members’ concerts posted. By having a central place for information, our goal is to increase the attendance at concerts and events, which means we are increasing the chances to win more souls for Christ.
To become a member the cost is only $69.00 per year (about $1.33 per week). OR $39.00 for 6 mos. Membership entitles you to post all your events, run classified ads and to have a hard link back to your group site. It is a great site for churches to view and be able to hear samples from several groups at one place. Also your membership entitles you to discounts on everything groups need, from sound equipment to banners and backdrops, as well as web sites for your group and /or church.
